The movie adaptation of Suzanne Collins ’ post apocalyptical teenage Thunderdome saga The Hunger Games is almost here . But if you ’ve study the books , you sleep together that there ’s no way that manager Gary Ross can integrate everything from the author material . And here ’s what we ’re betting does n’t make it in .
Here ’s our list of 10 plot ontogeny , grapheme and scenes that are possibly too expensive ( or graphic ) to justify a spot on screen . Warning , monumental spoiler from all three Book ahead …
Freaky Citizens of the Capitol
Bruce Willis ’ odd futuristic golem flick Surrogates tackled the whole “ in the succeeding citizenry will dye their skin blue , etc . ” trope , and the end result was a bit silly . permit ’s go for the Hunger Games movie learns from alternate ’ mistakes as most of the citizen of the Capitol have wildly colored cutis , hairsbreadth , halcyon face tattoos and even cat whiskers . Because we do n’t know how it ’s run short to turn out , if they endeavor to conjure up an total Tiger char with chevron and a tail . That being said , Effie look amazing .
The Full - On Fire Dress
Before the official stock sport begins in the arena each tribute is subject to pampering , feasting , interviews that are broadcast across all the districts , training and one very big parade . It ’s at this parade that Peeta and Katniss distinguish themselves above all the rest . Katniss ’ brilliant styler Cinna ( played by Lenny Kravitz ) devises a “ fire attire ” which allows both Peeta and Katniss to be illumine on fire , but not cauterise . Its what first turns the lunar time period for the District 12 testimonial , as they are dependent on the audience ’s kindness ( and therefore interest ) inside the area for additional food , piss , medicine ( in the form of a facile chute ) . This is a make - or - break off moment for many fans , and we ’re betting the motion-picture show will go for something elbow room , way more muted than the half-baked mode moment in the book . We just do n’t have a go at it if they can pull this one off on screen ( same goes for the exploding wedding party dress and plenty other fashion moments ) . Then again , if they do it will be a wondrous spectacle .
The Mutts !
Mutations are a very big part of the horror of Panem . In fact they ’re used in just about every book to scare the pant of a new clutch of tributes or rebels . There ’s malign wolf mutations , bloodless lounge lizard mass who bite the head off their victims and much , much more . These thing not only assault the tributes but take up residence in many of Katniss ’ nightmares . And we ’re bet they ’ll be right smart less insane in the moving picture — because otherwise , the other worry is that they ’ll look too silly and lose all of their threat .
The Final Battle In Mockingjay
The very last battle in the entire serial of Hunger Games books ( so spoiler monition ) pits the freedom fighter against the Peacekeepers on the streets of the Capitol . The Capitol ’s good defense , a compendium of arena “ seedpod ” that unleash form eating rats , waves of tar and flesh melt beams of light ! It ’s like the games on steroids . How they will pull this off without turning it into some dreadful video - game looking labyrinth ? We ’re not sure . luck are , the last battle will look very different on screen .
bucket of Gore
Good sphere , this is a bloody Bible . small fry are impaled by lance , disintegrate by a thou of tracker jacker sting , and multiple throats are slit . A direct interpreting of this book demands an universal gas constant evaluation . But we highly doubt the studio will want to shut out the younger lover ( and their money ) for the first movie or any of the sequels . It ’s still possible to show all of the deaths , but we worry that certain case will get their deserts conveniently off camera . We demand pedigree !
Buttercup
We recognise it ’s not terribly unvoiced to get a cat to walk around and act disinterested in Katniss , it ’s in their nature to make you earn their erotic love . But Buttercup is a strange mangled short kitty . We imagine her with hairless patch , piercing lily-livered eye and yet still adorable . It is going to be hard to retrieve such a mess - up brute ( that ’s trained ) in the real world .
Imaginary Lands
In the second book the “ Quarter Quell ” takes place on an island surrounded by a drab ocean with a pinkish sky . Turning an entire sky a different color would be a little costly . Our wager , they just keep it blue . This is just one exemplar of rich odd scene challenges we calculate will go the elbow room of the Jabberjay Bird .
Katniss Is moderately painful
One of the skillful thing about reading from the POV of Katniss is the consultation gets to see what our hoagie is really thinking , while she pose on a performance for the cameras . Often metre the hero will spit out cruel Son while thinking something alone unlike . While we ’re confident in Jennifer Lawrence ’s acting skills ( she play a majuscule conflicted Mystique in ecstasy - Men : First Class ) we ’re not so sure the audience wo n’t detest her by the second movie , if they ca n’t clearly see the thinker - games she ’s flirt so as to persist alive . finger crossed the screenplay bridges this difficult gap , but please god no internal monologue .
The Toddler Massacre
Sure we could probably collocate this particular scene under the “ gore ” category but it ’s such a bestial second and perfectly imperative to the breakdown of Katniss ( along with the justification of the President ’s murder ) . How the filmmakers will film a bunch of baby exploding in the street and maintain the PG-13 valuation they ’re gunning for is beyond us .
Nudity
Katniss gets raw , a lot . When her adorable prep squad are n’t deprive her down to “ Beauty Base Zero , ” she ’s sitting naked atop a new tegument auto . Then there ’s Johanna Mason who loves to get naked to make Katniss uncomfortable . We highly doubt there will be full frontal in this motion-picture show , but probably a lot of break shoulder .
