What kind of photos can you get out of a composition board boxful wrapped in some paper ? You ’d be amazed . For this calendar week ’s Shooting Challenge , we postulate you to scrap togetheryour own cheap lightbox . The results were fantastic .
Shooting Challenge : $ 20 Lightbox
WINNER: Headless
I built the lightbox on Saturday . I dissipate a bunch of very pedestrian thing . On Sunday , I started by cleaning the house and waiting for inspiration to strike . As I was set my married woman ’s pelage over a chair in the living room , I knocked over a statue behind the chairperson . It broke . It was my wife who advise I shoot it in the light box . I shot the two piece in the lightbox with both the head and the statue in focussing in separate shots . I go on to take and edit more , fine jibe , but my wife win over me to return to the shot of the statue and head with the head in focus . The crack is dark and funny , and my wife should get the credit for it . Lightboxes are not for me . Thanks Honey ! 50 mm , f/2.5 , 1/320 sec , ISO 100

Duck Duck Goose
My husband built me a light corner and still have five minute to spare to go to our friend ’s mansion to watch the game ! He ’d done his chore and leave me to do mine . I found the bright part of our sign of the zodiac . I used natural lighting from a window and a home made reflector to illuminate the light box on all three sides . I tried out all form of things in the loge … from black piggies to whisky flasks but in the end take a goose ’s egg which is quite unsubdivided but I intend efficacious . Used my Canon T2i and the macro lens .

Big Daddy
I shot this Bioshock “ Big dada ” because I love the intent and feel of these guys in the Bioshock franchise . They are so huge and heavy look but also have that kind heart mush inside that metallic element consistency for their “ little baby ” . This was a neat item to add to my collection of toys and action figures , and every time I see it on my desk I smile cognize I have a Big pop guard my calculator . Canon 7D , Canon EF 28 – 135 mm , ISO 200

Bobble Spidey
I ’m a huge laughable book buff and have several Spider - man natural action figures around house . Including this bobble - head Spidey that I got from my girlfriend . I thought it might look neat to pose him under some decent light with the lightbox . I had to take a brace of shot with the same camera options just to verify his chief was n’t moving during the shots . One fragile tabular array hump and I ’d have to wait and start all over again . Canon 550d , Sigma 50 mm 1.4 , ISO 100 . F 2.8 , 1/40

( Click the photo to see it without a harvest . )
Granted , not everyone used a homemade rig this week ( which was fine — that was wholly allowed in the rule ) . But I ’m forever surprised by the quality of jury rigged photo props . luck are , if there ’s a professional effect you ’ve always wanted to try but thought you could n’t afford , there ’s somebody who has already built the affair from bent coating hangers and a few bargain bin light bulbs . See the full gallery below and the big shots onflickr .
