The dreaded Carrie remaking is encircle a director . Thankfully , it ’s Kimberly Peirce of Boys Do n’t Cry fame , which makes us slightly optimistic for her translation .
Deadlinereports that the studio apartment wants Peirce for their new Carrie . And while we ’d bed to see Pierce ’s POV on Carrie , we ca n’t imagine anyone replace the greatness that was Sissy Spacek ’s operation . Even Stephen King does n’t really see the value in a remake — then again , he still may be scarred by The fury : Carrie 2 . In the end , we ’re torn . We desperately want a writing style moving-picture show from Peirce , but we ’re stomach from “ yet another remaking ” syndrome . What say you , io9ers ?
