It ’s no arcanum this summertime ’s leaning of blockbusters has been a lustreless collection of underperformer . But who ’s to blame for this debacle ? We point a stern finger at the infirm collection of villains . Just check out our list of indictments .
Star Trek ’s Nero :
Why He give out : Sure he was flashy , and maybe a tad intimidating – but his anger only made him volatile and pissy , not really frightening . His rage was well-fixed to discourage , and even easier to put off – once you bring a level headed hero into gambol ( which , grant , take in some clock time ) . Bottom stock : He was all bark and not enough personal bite . Sure , he blew up Vulcan , but we did n’t really see the destruction . It was just reckless and wild – once again , something that seems easy to discourage with a cooler nous . He did n’t even take delight in find out Captain Pike squirm . If Nero reappeared via a severance in fourth dimension , I do n’t think people would honestly be that disquieted . It would be all “ oh it ’s that guy again , what ’s that he ’s out of red matter , oh well then no headache . ” Khan , he is not .

What Should Have Happened : The unbridled hatred should have been used both in a big way and in a small way . So he ca n’t gas up Earth , fine then he ’s lead down there to pour down off little innocent human beings one by one . Or he ’s sending in undercover troops to slaughter the new recruits at Star Fleet . He should have channeled his furore in many unlike way besides merely blowing up a planet . It would have made a case for a far more convincing and direful role and seemed less like a drunken bar brawl .
Transformers 2 ’s The Fallen :
Why He flush it : This baddie ’s threat was lost in the folds of transforming golem . By the fourth dimension he was on Earth , I did n’t really know what his abilities were , in comparison to all the other Transformers . Also he made Megatron attend like a entire wuss - bot , after he was typeset up as a pretty chilling villain in the first movie . What was with the kneeling and my lord talk , Lame .
What Should Have Happened : He should have vote out Optimus Prime as opposed to “ assembly strong point ” on the far side of some moon . Also they should have made an attempt to explicate just why this particular early Transformer was so peculiarly chilling . You could also argue that this moving picture should n’t have been made — point — or The Fallen should have kept back to the third pic , to let the Constructicons take the principal . The Devastator was vaguely peril for the minutes he was sucking down sand .
Watchman ’s Ozymandius :
Why He Failed : This character was destine from the outset principally due to the way he was save ( and what was leave behind out ) and the part ’s casting . lamentably , Matthew Goode just could n’t take out off favourable haired Adonis , we merit better .
What Should Have take place : They should n’t have fiddle with the conclusion . Zack Snyder left just about everything else in there — why futz with the scariest region of the motion picture ? Snyder never should have countenance Hayteruse 9/11 to cut the destructionand violence out of a book that is destructive and wild for a cause . Leave in the ocean of blood that fell upon New York . His part should have been gripe up — misfortunate Ozzy was dreadfully underwritten , and also recasting might have helped a bit .

Skynet ( T4 exterminator ):
Why They bomb : These robotic buffoons did n’t make a single consistent decision , from start to finish . They needed to feel cold-blooded and uncaring . mayhap if they ’d slaughtered floppy - head little kid in front of Kyle Reese , that would have helped . But really , their idiotic bungling always undercut their natural process . A complete revision is needed front to back .

While I ’m cautiously optimistic about Destro , nothing dependable will follow of a Cobra Commander who looks like this . In both Distict 9 and Avatar the human beings are the unfit cat , yet again . While I ’m commove for these two motion-picture show , see a valuable lesson about the human species does n’t really send shudders down my backbone .
But revere not — we ’re holding out Leslie Townes Hope for the pasty clean cave / chiropteran the great unwashed from space and the Appalachian Mountains to save us . introduce the bloodless demons from Pandorum and The Descent 2 . trusted they are similar , but they both give me the heebie jeebies and seem to require only one thing : to confound you , and then kill you . I ’m heroic for some good old fashioned killing , and I have a feeling these guys will deliver .
