Except , that is , for one particular area of quad have it away as the Boötes void , a massive expanse of empty blank space unlike any other abide by in the Universe .
Discovered by astronomer Robert Kirshner and his squad back in 1981 , the Boötes void , sometimes call the Great Void , is a huge , spherical area of outer space that contains very few galaxies .
