Al Franken can be a line-shooter at times , but occasionally he ’s the hero of the tale . Like when he rips aside Comcast CEO Brian Roberts over some contradictions in the arguments for the Comcast / NBC merger .
The video ’s well deserving watching if you enjoy see a chief executive officer fluster and stuttering , but Consumerist sums up what go down rather well :
Sen. Franken said that Comcatastrophe Roberts had meet him in his role and say that the FCC rule “ will make certain that you always have a wide variety of plan because they forbid [ Comcast / NBC ] from discriminating against other company ’s programs . ”

Then Franken pointed to a signaling he had print with a inverted comma from Comcast ’s attorneys saying that those same formula were unconstitutional .
“ In other words , expect to get favorable reception for this merger , you sat there in my office and assure me to my face that these formula would protect consumers but your lawyers had just fetch up fence in front of the Commission that it would be unconstitutional to hold these rules , ” Franken say .
