On Monday , video surfaced onRedditshowing a SkyRunner “ flying railway car ” crashing into a building . And while the video is sure as shooting appal , there was n’t any circumstance for the accident — just the typical Reddit jokes . But we just learned more from SkyRunner . gratefully , both the pilot and the passenger exist .

According to SkyRunner , which has FAA certification for the vehicles , the incident come about in the United Arab Emirates on February 9th at 10:15am GST . SkyRunner sometimes operate these fomite themselves for various promotions but it also sells the vehicle to third parties . This was a case of the latter , according to the company .
“ A companionship which owns a SkyRunner was do a quotidian flight on Friday when it came in liaison with a building , ” SkyRunner CEO Stewart Hamel told Gizmodo today by email .

Sadly , this was n’t the first time that a fly motorcar has crashed . Aeromobil had a defective accident during atest flight in 2015 , but the pilot survived thanks to an parking brake parachute that deployed from the aircraft . And in 2014 , a Maverick fly car clash in Florida lefttwo people wound .
A crash is never great , but it ’s especially speculative timing for the flying cable car community , as citizenry here in 2018 are still fabulously excited about the prospect of living like George Jetson for their commute to work .
