Former Facebook Exec: ‘You Don’t Realize It But You Are Being Programmed’

This is the year everyone — including founding executives — began publicly questioning the impact of societal media on our life .

Last month , Facebook ’s first president Sean Parkeropened up abouthis regretsover helping make social media as we know it today . “ I do n’t know if I really understand the aftermath of what I was saying , because of the unintended consequences of a connection when it grows to a billion or 2 billion people and it literally changes your kinship with society , with each other , ” Parker said . “ God only knows what it ’s doing to our children ’s mental capacity . ”

Chamath Palihapitiya , former frailty prexy of drug user increment , also recently express his concern . During a recentpublic discourse at the Stanford Graduate School of Business , Palihapitiya — who work at Facebook from 2005 to 2011 — told the audience , “ I think we have created tools that are ripping asunder the social fabric of how guild work . ”

It ’s as if Parker and Palihapitiya got together at a bar that week to sour out their inner demons . When the host postulate Palihapitiya if he was doing any soul search in regards to his function in building Facebook , he respond : “ I feel marvellous guilt . I conceive we all knew in the back of our minds — even though we feign this whole blood of , like , there probably are n’t any forged unintended consequences . I think in the back , deep , deep recesses of , we kind of have it away something unfit could materialise . But I reckon the agency we defined it was not like this . ”

He locomote on to explain what “ this ” is :
