I ’m one of those citizenry who never takes anything anyone says at face time value but absolutely swears by loss date . Ew the milk go today ? ! Eat my cereal ironical . The lolly smells fine but it sound out it ’s not BEST BY today any longer . Go get a sandwich at the deli . My blind adherence to those labels is idiotic but I know how to get well now : abide by the rough appraisal of this infographic that shows the shelf lifetime of food in the larder , fridge and freezer .
Yeah , yeah . I know . I ’m going from following one piece of newspaper to following a bunch of pixels . It ’s not in any way more scientific ! But getting the rough idea of how long food lasts is a beneficial affair ( in a More You Know way ) . Like I never have a go at it tater and lettuce should n’t be put in the freezer . Or that dearest lasts constantly ( make good sense though ) . Or that ketchup ‘ only ’ endure a year , I ’m pretty sure I break that find many times over .
The infographic was made byVisual.lyand used advice from the USDA , FDA and others . It ’s give-up the ghost to be my newfangled sworn beginning for keeping food around . [ Visual.ly ]
