Julianne Houghis taking matters into her own hands!The actress, 35, shareda videoon her Instagram on Saturday, showing her sitting in a salon chair. “Alright,” she declared as she tousled the front strands of her hair.
While fans likely expected to watch Hough’s stylist go to work on her, the woman instead handed a pair of scissors to theDancing with the Starsalum with a coy smile.
Hough then proceeded to snip away at the front of her blonde hair while her stylist praised her efforts from off camera. “Nice angle!” she told Hough.
“I need the slide action,” Hough replied in a nod to her technique, as she continued to cut several inches off her hair’s length, really getting into the process.
“I’m cutting my own hair,” she marveled as she checked out her progress in the mirror. “Oh, that’s so fun! I like this length.”
As she showed off her new shoulder-length cut and stood up and removed her cape, she added, “And that, my dears, is a seven-minute haircut.”
In the caption of the post, Hough shared what inspired her to make a change and cut her hair shorter.
“Out with the old energy, and in with the new,” she wrote. “This was such a funny day — it was raining so hard, but the sun was shining and there was a double rainbow. It made me start to think about the seasons of life, and the decisions we make as we progress. Hair is such an outward expression of what those decisions are…of the internal journeys that we go through.”

TheSafe Havenstar explained that the fact that the sun was shining so brightly amid the rain “felt like a cleansing” to her.
“Plus a double rainbow to show a sign of prosperity and all the life that is to come,” she added. “It just felt like it was the right time to cut off some of the old energy and start fresh.”

She tagged the hairstylist,Riawna Capri of Nine Zero One, and added the joking hashtag, “#donttrythisathome🚫.”
Hough received plenty of compliments on her new ‘do in the comment section of the post, including a few from her celebrity friends.
“It IS cute!! 🔥,” wrote actressMichelle Monaghan.
It seems Hough could have a new side hustle, as a number of fans asked her to use her scissors skills on their hair. “@juleshough please cut my hair next?! 🙏🏼🤍,” one person asked.
Another joked, “@riawna she’s coming for your job!! 😂.”
