Kaitlyn Bristoweis getting candid about her upper blepharoplasty — and how her dog reacted to it.
The formerBachelorette, 39, whogot the cosmetic procedure done in early December, revealed new details about her experience in anInstagram Reelposted on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
The procedure removes excess skin from the eyelids that can cause “sagging eyebrows, droopy upper lids and bags under the eyes,” per theMayo Clinic.
In addition to making your eyes look “younger and more alert,” the procedure can also help reduce vision problems as “severely sagging skin around the eyes can reduce side vision (peripheral vision), especially the upper and outer parts of the visual field,” the organization adds.

Bristowe explained in her video that she opted for the surgery because she has a “very hooded lid.”
TheOff the Vinepodcast host noted that she’s had other cosmetic procedures done, including cheek and lip filler, and has bonded her teeth (a procedure that is done to “repair chips, close down gaps, or change the shape and color of a tooth,” per theCleveland Clinic).
Her eyelids, however, are something that bothered her “for a very long time,” even after getting a “regular amount of Botox,” causing her to undergo a blepharoplasty, she shared.

Bristowe said that while it was her first plastic surgery where she “did go under the knife,” the procedure was done in 15 to 20 minutes, and her stitches stayed in for about 10 to 14 days.
During her recovery, though, one of hertwo golden retrievers, Pinot and Ramen, “clawed at one of my eyes.”
“I had to get one re-stitched so that one is slowly healing a bit slower than the other eye,” she said.
Amid the incident, Bristowe said she had to sleep sitting up for two days but soon after “went on with life as per usual.”

“That surgery that I had for my upper bleph was on December 5. It is now January 22. The scarring is healing nicely,” said Bristowe.
“I just put a little bit of vitamin E oil on and I just also want to say that I am not here to influence you or make you go get one and think you need one,” she continued. “I’m just simply being transparent and sharing my journey.”
Bristowe’s video comes three weeks aftershe clapped back at critics who commented about her procedure.
“Believe it or not I’ve done more work on the inside. You can’t physically see that, but I’ve never felt it more,” she wrote in a Dec. 30Instagram post.
