Kate Middletonpicked a very special piece from her jewelry box to complete her Easter Sunday look – and give a nod to her eight-year wedding anniversary!

But eagle-eyed royals fans noticed that Kate also sported the Robinson Pelham earrings she wore for her 2011 wedding to William. The diamond sparklers are stylized oak leaves with a pear-cut diamond drop and a suspended diamond acorn at its center. The earrings were specially made to pay homage to Kate’s coat of arms and complement the Cartier halo tiara that she wore for her walk down the aisle.

The choice of earrings was no coincidence – on April 29, Kate and William will celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary.

Before the service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, Kate — now a pro at royal protocol — shared a moment with the Queen, putting on amodel curtsy.

With one foot behind the other, Kate bent her knees and smiled at the monarch, while also slightly bowing her head — exactly howMyka Meier, founder and director of Beaumont Etiquette says a curtsy should look.

Last year, Meier told PEOPLE that acurtsy should be subtle– and that the deeper and longer you pause shows more respect and formality.

Kate’s etiquette did well, as today is also the Queen’s actual birthday!

The long-reigning monarch celebrated her 93rd birthday on Sunday and wore a light blue coat and hat that included a bright pink ribbon, matching her dress.
