Days aftertheir Valentine’s Day engagement, the couple are still all smiles — not that you can tell in their sweet snowy selfie. Bloom shared a shot of their two heads shielded in helmets are they prepare to go skiing.
While Bloom, 42, and Perry have yet to comment beyond their brief updates on social media, the singer’sAmerican Idol-mate opened up about their happy relationship milestone. During an episode ofLife with Kelly & Ryanon Tuesday,Ryan Seacrestshared that the show’s producers were urged to stay strictly on schedule during their Valentine’s Day shoot.
“Turns out, I guess, Orlando had this whole evening planned out,” Seacrest said on the daytime talk show. “She went fromIdoland then a few hours later, we saw the post up on Instagram. She’s so happy. It was actually really beautiful to see her the next day so happy and beaming, so congratulations.”
“Full bloom,” she sweetly captioned the image, using a play on her husband-to-be’s name.
Bloom went on to share the same image on his own Instagram, captioning the adorable snap, “Lifetimes.”
Earlier on Friday, a second source revealed that although Perry may have been surprised, the couple’s decision to take their relationship to the next levelwasn’t a spur-of-the-moment choice.
“They’ve been talking about getting engaged for a while. After reconciling Katy has felt very secure with Orlando and they both knew it was different this time,” the source said. “They made their relationship a priority and both of them literallyflew all around the worldto keep their relationship strong.”
“She was in such a bad place after her split from Russell [Brand], so to be getting married again is a huge deal. Their friends and family areso happy and excited for them,” the insider added, referencing Perry’s ex-husband, whom shesplit from in 2011.
“They are such a great couple,” the Bloom source continued. “They really took their time to figure out if they could work as a couple. They really wanted to from the beginning, but things are not always easy. They are both proud of how far they have come. Everyone is super excited about the engagement.”
