On Thursday, theSaturday Night Livealum announced he would not be proceeding forward with the planned second season for hislaudedPeacock comedy series,Bupkis.
“I’ve always seenBupkisas a window into my life, since it is so personal and about my struggles and family. After nearly a decade of my personal life being in the media I wanted a chance to tell my story my way,” Davidson, 30, said in a statement shared with PEOPLE.

The semi-autobiographical series told a heightened, fictionalized version of Davidson’s life story. It had been compared toLarry David’sCurb Your EnthusiasmandLouis C.K.‘sLouie.
Edie FalcoandJoe Pescistarred as Davidson’s mother and grandfather, respectively, alongside several celebrity guest stars, includingJohn Mulaney,Chase Sui Wonders,Charlie Day,La La AnthonyandMachine Gun Kelly.
Bupkis,which premiered in May 2023 and wasrenewed for a second seasonthe following month, marked Davidson’s big return to television afterending his longtime run onSaturday Night Livein 2022.
However, despite one-off guest starring roles across television, he has largely focused his attention on bolstering his film career with roles inMeet Cute,Dumb Money,Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,Fast XandTransformers: Rise of the Beasts. His many upcoming film projects include a horror film, titledThe Home.
Davidson has also been keeping up with his comedic career, debuting a new Netflix comedy special — titledPete Davidson: Turbo Fonzarelli— in January. Additionally, he is touring the country with hisPete Davidson: Prehabcomedy tour.
